Dong Ki Yoon

Dong Ki Yoon is a professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), South Korea.
He leads the Soft Material Assembly Group, where his research focuses on controlling and patterning soft materials such as liquid crystals, supramolecules, biomaterials, and polymers for advanced display and sensing applications.
His team investigates how external factors—such as electric fields, confined geometries, and gentle mechanical forces—affect the structure and behavior of these materials.
Through this work, they aim to develop innovative and responsive materials that bridge fundamental science with practical technologies in optics, electronics, and materials design.
