Dana Grecov

Biography: 
Dr. Grecov received her B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University Politehnica of Bucharest and her Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France. Following a postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, she joined the University of British Columbia in 2005 and has served as Associate Head, Research and Graduate Studies in Mechanical Engineering since 2020. Dr. Grecov has published more than 150 journal and conference papers, combining experimental, analytical, and numerical approaches to study complex fluid systems. She has supervised and mentored over 120 postdoctoral, graduate and undergraduate students throughout her academic career. Dr. Grecov received the CFI (Canada Foundation for Innovation) Leaders Opportunity Award in 2007, the NSERC (Natural Science and Engineering Research Council) Discovery Accelerator Award in 2016, and the Wall Scholars Research Award in 2016. She has been a Fellow of Engineers Canada since 2019 and a Fellow of the Society of Canadian Mechanical Engineering since 2023.
